My experience as Surveyor/Inspector Engineer is for MSC Cruiser in France, Aker Solution Norway, QC Inspector for Damen Galati Shipyard, Hull Shipbuilding Engineer in Fincantieri S.p.A (Monfalcone/Italy) and Hanjin Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. (Philippines). For these Companies I perform inspections for hull structures, outfitting, pipe systems, insulation, made by internal or subcontracting companies.
I was responsible for inspecting and checking the construction of the hull and outfitting to ensure it aligned with approved technical drawings, engineering, and quality standards. I recorded, maintained, and reported the results of all inspections and tests. Additionally, I reviewed the owner's specifications and related information to check the quality of delivered items, fulfilling the necessary classification rules required by the Ship Register, designers, and the ship owner. In addition to managing teams of welders and locksmiths in the Grand Assembly area, including principal and deputy foremen, I maintained contact with my own department, project managers, department heads/managers, and the owner's representative.
I have had positions at Vard Engineering Norway, Kvaerner Norway and engineering offices like Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries and Icepronav in Romania. During this time, I gained knowledge about different Ship Class Societies such as DNV-GL, BV, Norsk Standard, IACS, and SOLAS. I was responsible for technical drawings, basic designs, and detailed design drawings for Class approval and owner comments. Additionally, I was responsible for designing 3D models for hull blocks, structural outfitting, and equipment using various marine software.
